About Laurie Connelly

Laurie Connelly is a third-generation resident of Indian River County who grew up in the Central Beach area and has always had a deep love of Vero Beach. Her grandparents came to Vero Beach in 1952 and built the Petite Shop in Sexton Plaza, a successful women’s boutique that is still run by her family.

Laurie graduated from Vero Beach High School and went on to attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst, earning her degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management in 1988. During her six years working in sales and marketing in Boston, Laurie married her high school sweetheart, Brian, in 1991. They returned to Florida, in 1993, where Brian attended law school at Stetson University in St. Petersburg and Laurie worked as a buyer for the Boulevard, a high-end specialty women’s boutique store in Tampa, Florida. When Brian graduated in 1995, they returned to Vero Beach where Laurie managed the Petite Shop family business and they bought their first home in the Vero Beach Country Club area where they still reside today.

Laurie is active in the community and has served on numerous non-profit boards. She has been the Event Coordinator and Fundraiser for Youth Guidance Mentoring Academy since 2007, organizing the “Tropical Night Luau” and “King of the Hill” tennis tournament, raising funds for at-risk children. She also serves on the Youth Guidance board and volunteers as a mentor for two young teenagers.

She was also the first Event Coordinator for the Oceanside Business Association and one of the original organizers of the annual “Taste of Vero” and monthly “Sunset Saturday Nights” on Ocean Drive. Laurie believes in “keeping it local” and supporting Vero Beach businesses.
They have two children, Dalton, age 23, who is studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Florida in Gainesville and daughter, Claire, age 20, who is a Pre-Med student at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. On the weekends Laurie and Brian enjoy taking friends and out-of-town guests boating to explore the Intracoastal Waterway. She is an avid tennis player and loves paddle boarding and pickle ball.

A real “people-person”, Laurie has always known that real estate would be a great fit, as she loves showing off the beautiful town of Vero Beach and believes in keeping the community the quaint and charming area it has always been.
